Focused on Profit, Not Players
Our family chose ABA because of its emphasis on player development and college preparation. While those goals were appealing, our experience did not match those expectations. We felt the organization placed more emphasis on growing the program than on individual player development. In our experience, what many parents commonly refer to as ‘daddyball’ appeared to influence playing time and opportunities. We also found the costs to be higher than many comparable organizations in the area. While every family’s experience may differ, our experience led us to conclude that ABA was not the right fit for our family.
